All Fall Down is the twenty-second/twenty-third episode and the two-part season finale of Season 3 of Good Luck Charlie, which aired on January 20th, 2013. This is the second hour-long episode of the season and the fourth overall in the series.
Teddy learns that Spencer is moving to Boston after being admitted to a performing arts school, which makes their relationship a long distance one. While at work, Bob catches a rare species of termites, which later get loose in the house. Amy starts her own mommy blog to compete with Debbie Dooley. With Toby now sleeping in his room, Gabe tries to find a new room for himself in the house. This episode got approx 4.2 million viewers on its premiere night.
Plot[]
The episode opens in a hotel room, where the Duncans are occupying after "the worst day in Duncan Family History." Teddy, while recording her video diary, says that they are not on vacation. Bob tries to be optimistic but they point out he's the reason they are here which he denies, Teddy then starts to explain what happened a week earlier.
Gabe finds out from Amy that he and Toby are sharing a room, which he does not approve of because he is now a teenager and needs his own space. Also, Amy failed to consult and talk with Gabe about it, as she only did it with Toby, even though she felt bad about not doing the same for her other son. She explains to Gabe that due to the amount of rooms in the house, Gabe has to share a room with his baby brother. Gabe however makes it clear that unlike him and PJ, he is going to stay in charge, not Toby.
Teddy learns that Spencer was admitted to a performing arts school in Boston, but also got an early admission since he finished enough credits to graduate. Spencer is unsure whether to go given his relationship with Teddy, after talking with her friends, Teddy encourages him to go since she doesn't want to keep him from going. As a result, Teddy and Spencer try to handle a long distance relationship, which doesn't work, as it's difficult for them to even video chat and Teddy still misses Spencer.
At her friends' suggestion, Teddy tries to visit Spencer in Boston as a surprise without telling her parents, as she instead tells them that she's spending the weekend at Ivy's house. However, Spencer had the same idea as he flies back to Denver to surprise Teddy. When Teddy gets back to Denver, they both agree that they cannot maintain the long distance relationship, especially since his parents are coming up for Spring break and Teddy doesn't want to (i.e. cannot) lie to her parents for the second time, as she felt bad about lying to them during her first attempt to visit him at Boston. This means that the only time they will see each other is Summer vacation. They are so sad but are reluctant to talk about breaking up or even saying goodbye. When they are about to say goodbye, Charlie comes in and asks Teddy and Spencer why they are so sad, and then tells them instead of saying goodbye "Then say hello". Teddy and Spencer then say hello sadly.
While at work, Bob catches a rare species of termites, which later get loose in the house. Amy was against having the termites in the house in the first place because the house itself is wood. His co worker Vern tells him that his only option is to tent the house, but still attempting to keep the whole thing secret, Bob decides to release some ants to eat the termites. While it causes some issues in the kitchen, Bob finally catches all the ants. At first Bob thinks the ants ate all the termites, but he is proven wrong after breaking one of the banisters and seeing dozens of termites. Bob realizes, he has to tent the house but to avoid Amy seeing the tent, he asks Amy to take a rewarding 48 hour vacation instead of telling the truth like Vern suggested.
PJ decides to drop out of college to pursue the Culinary Arts but doesn't want to tell his parents. After learning about Bob's secret, he decides to wait on telling his parents. Meanwhile, he tries to get Gabe to get in trouble, but Gabe isn't interested as he is trying to find his own space. PJ later comforts Teddy after she parted ways with Spencer, telling her about how he felt when Skyler moved to New York and how he was able to move on. He also tells Teddy that maybe Spencer and her are meant to be together and someday when the time is right they will be, which she greatly appreciated.
Amy starts her own mommy blog to compete with Debbie Dooley, and as a result, gets invited to host a segment on Good Morning Denver from her house with her family. For her blog, Amy refers to herself as a mama bird who hatched six children (chicks), creating an 8-year-old daughter Skippy Duncan for the blog and that she is a handful.
With Toby now sleeping in his room, Gabe tries to find a new room for himself in the house such as the fireplace, washing room and garage but there are no good alternatives, eventually finding a place in the attic after PJ reveals the attic's existence. Amy finds out Gabe is living in the attic and decides to use it for her segment to show the effective use of space.
While the Good Morning Denver crew is recording the segment live in the attic, the termites cause the side of the house to fall. Bob reveals that the termites escaped, PJ then reveals he dropped out of college and Teddy then reveals that she flew to Boston. Because of what's happened, Amy decides to not admit that she made Skippy up, and instead tries to present the weather. Everyone takes their luggage, which was ready, and leaves so Bob can tent the house. PJ explains his reasons for dropping out of collage to his parents as he plans to become a chef and so he is going to cooking school. Hearing this, Amy and Bob are proud of PJ for having a plan for once. Amy grounds Teddy for lying to her and Bob. After everyone has left the house, Bob closes the door right behind him, but before doing so a bed falls through the ceiling.
The house ends up being destroyed by termites, and the family winds up living in a hotel until they can fix up their home. Teddy then ends the video diary saying she doesn't know where they will live but ends the diary by saying "Good Luck, Charlie".
