When Teddy found out that the best news piece will win an internship with the local news, she enlists Gabe and his friend to go undercover and secure a hard-hitting news story. Meanwhile, PJ tries to make peace with the transfer student whose ponytail he cut off in kindergarten, and Charlie ruins an expensive pair of shoes that Amy was supposed to return instead of paying $400!.

Episode Summary[]

Teddy has joined the high school news team and does a fake report about bad pancakes at home. At school, the head of the school news team Jean tells everyone about an internship to be on live TV. In order to get the internship, everyone has to come up with a killer news report by Friday. Her first report is on the school lunch meat, but Jean, the one in charge of the news team, cannot accept this as there are no facts. Desperate, she uses Gabe and his friend Jake (Tucker Albrizzi) to go see a PG-13 movie, so she can use it to win the internship at a news station. Unfortunately, Jean cannot accept this either as the person at the box office is his brother and his ride to school. Meanwhile, Amy buys a pair of heels that cost $400 to go out to a party with Bob with her boss at the local club and plans on returning them. She puts them away in the box, but Charlie gets hold of them and ruins the shoes and even in their efforts to restore the shoes, they cannot be returned, so they have to pay the $400. PJ tries to make amends with a kindergarten classmate after cutting off the boy's ponytail. He keeps having nightmares about Dustin getting even and cutting P.J.'s hair. He talks to Dustin and the two start to get along but Dustin is secretly vengeful. In the end, when Dustin spends the night, P.J.'s hunch came true, but Dustin only shaved a small portion and he doesn't rub it in, he just smiles.

Running Gags[]

  • Charlie seems to wear bigger shoes a lot.
  • Throughout the episode, P.J. keeps fearing that Dustin will cut off his hair.

Good Luck, Charlie[]

Teddy: Mom, you wore your heels to work?

Amy: Yes, they make everything an event.
Teddy: Store didn't take them back, huh?
Amy (annoyed): Laughed in my face.
Teddy: See, this is a good lesson, Charlie. If you try to pull a scam, You're going to suffer the consequences.
Amy: Here here, give me that camera.
Teddy: No, mom, I'll do the video diary, thank you.
Amy: No no no no. I've got something I'd like to say to Charlie. Stay out of my closet, all right? Yeah? Next time you take a pair of my shoes... You can take it from here.

Teddy: Good Luck Charlie

Memorable Quotes[]

Amy: And you might want to try on that suit.

Bob: Why would I want to do that?
Amy: You might have put on weight since our homecoming dance.

Bob: Thank you for saying might have.
PJ opens door, Dustin is there.

Dustin: PJ!
PJ: Dustin.
Dustin: Remember me from kindergarten?

PJ: Uh, I don't know. It was a long time ago. What year of kindergarten?

Background Information[]

  • Viewership: 3.1 million, down from last week's episode Charlie Shakes It Up!, which got 4.0 million.
  • Grant's line, "Do you want to kiss me as much as I want to kiss you" is a reused line from The Suite Life of Zack and Cody where Zac Efron's character Trevor asked Ashley Tisdale's character the same thing. The only difference is Maddie did kiss Trevor, while Teddy refused to kiss him.

Production Information[]

International Premieres[]

  • January 28, 2012 (Disney Channel Poland)

Continuity[]

Errors[]

  • Teddy states Gabe's age as 11, even though his age is stated as 12-½ in "Gabe's 12-½ Birthday." However, this episode could be set before said episode.
  • Amy takes the shoes from the bag, but later states that she puts them in the box. She could've taken them out of the box, though.
  • PJ implies that he was in Kindergarten for more than one year. We also found out earlier in Snow Show that he repeated third grade. This means that he got held back at least two years. However, he is 17 which is the normal age for a senior.

Cast[]

Guest Stars[]
